Why use The Hack Repair Guy’s Admin Login Notifier?

Users with Administrator role set can delete your entire website.

Preguntas frecuentes

Why was this plugin created?

In my day to day work cleaning malware from hacked websites, I find hackers often gain access by signing in through a stolen or guessed at Administrator account password.

Many of the established security plugins include Administrator login notification as well. But these other plugins tend to be bloated, with lots of extraneous features and complicated setup requirements.

Why make it so hard–geez!

This has left me with a choice. Either I recommend clients install one of those 100+ feature plugins, which include notification as an extra feature, or I eliminate all frustration and create a 1-click to install notification plugin for my clients.

So The Hack Repair Guy’s Admin Login Notifier plugin was born.

1. If I deactivate or remove the plugin what will happen?

Short answer: No alerts will be sent.

Long answer: Deactivation is the recommended way to turn off notifications as well.

2. What if I wish to change the notification email address?

Short answer: Change the setting in WP Admin > Settings > General > Email Address.

Long answer: The Hack Repair Guy’s Admin Login Notifier uses WordPress’ default admin email setting – this notification will be sent to the same email address WordPress uses to send you other notifications.

Additional notification recipients may be selected via the plugin Settings page. Just select which users should be notified and click Save.

3. Why did you create this plugin?

Short answer: I tire of complicated plugins.

Long answer: Most login notification plugins require several steps to fully configure. I’ve solved that “problem” with The Hack Repair Guy’s Admin Login Notifier. Time is precious–and and I’ve got none to spare!

Saved My Bacon – Or, My Client’s Anyway

Received a notification from The Hack Repair Guy’s Admin Login Notifier today that I had logged into a client website. That was news to me so I immediately took steps to secure the site. While I’m not sure just how they got in, I am sure that this plugin helped prevent damage since I was able to log the malicious entity out and go to work changing all of the credentials. Thanks again, Jim!

Receive an email alert warning each wp-admin access

This plugin is simple and perfect to help with the security of all my WordPress-based websites. It helps me to keep all the websites running WordPress secure against any unknown login and it sends me an email each time someone connects to the admin panel of my WordPress websites, making it easy to investigate any unknown login access. I’ve been using this amazing WordPress plugin for a while and I super recommend it if you are looking for something simple and easy to use. Thanks to that simple plugin, It’s easy to find out when someone login into the wp-admin, since this plugin will simply send an email alert to anyone authorized and properly configured into the settings to receive a warning alert by email each time anyone successfully logs in to the WordPress admin panel. All webmasters know how important is to keep the WordPress system up to date as the maintenance routine for the security and stability of the applied theme, and the importance to keep all the used plugins properly updated to keep the website secure and stable. Now it’s easy to find out all successful login access from any editor, user, and/or admin accounts into the wp-admin, making it easy to investigate any possible issue situation related to any unknown access that could affect the security and stability of a secure running website running under WordPress system.

Simple and very useful

Knowing when an admin user logs into your site is critical to security and this plugin does it perfectly. I handle security professionally for many sites and while other plugins may have this function as a feature, there are many times all the other features of those plugins cause problems or the plugin itself cannot be used. If you host with WPEngine or other Wordpress dedicated hosting providers you will know what I am talking about. Use this instead.

Very useful plugin. In addition to the hack use case, it could also be helpful to send you an alert if you have given your clients a “just in case” Admin user.

Nice, focused and useful. What more could you ask?

I just installed it and tested it. It worked very well and I can see a lot of uses for this. Thanks! This plugin is a great tool for those who manage sites, whether for themselves of for others.
